If your putting a stick feed on it you might just want to cut it off and leave the throat in the body. Removing it gives a ton of wiggle room in the breach. If its centerfeed it will expose detent threads on threaded detent bodies. If its right feed it will be a large mishapen breach with a small chance to punch paint in.

grab with vice/collet/something secure

twist and pull, twist and pull and it should come right out

heat helps, but not always needed
