First Striker's and Air Gun Shooters, I need your help! Which Scope to Buy?

So I found the old BB/pellet gun my brother and I used to shoot when we were younger in my garage today. It's a Daisy Powerline 880 if you're all wondering.

It has iron sights, but I want to get a simple scope for it. Something like a 4x20 or 8x20 I think. I used the 3-9x32 variable zoom scope we have and 8x was perfect for the distances I'll be shooting since I have a small back yard.

I found three 4x20 for around $9-$11 and an 8x20 for $19 on eBay. The 4x20's were made by Goldman, NC Star, and Crosman. The 8x20 doesn't list the brand, but here is a link: 8x20 Scope

Any suggestions as to which brand is best? Or is it worth the money to buy a more expensive scope?

And are there any cheap/budget variable zoom scopes? The cheapest I can find are like $200.

Keep in mind this will just be for backyard shooting and recreation.

I saw on amazon a couple 3-9x32 scopes for $75 a piece with good reviews. Might be a good start

you get what you pay for. this is for a BB gun, so the shear recoil will mess with it. pay $9 and it it shakes apart, you aren't out anything major.

My favorite little hole-in-the-wall for all things cheap -

dx.com (formerly DealExtreme.com)

Here's a nice one - 6~24*50 GD Zooming Reflex Laser Sight Rifle Scope with Gun Mount (Red + Green Laser Configurable)

Or if you want something that literally costs less than $7 -4x20 Rifle Scope

Always search for products by "Most Reviews," and have fun! They've got a little bit of EVERYTHING, free shipping anywhere-anytime-anyamount, and have good customer support. Just don't be in a hurry, everything comes from China on a boat, so expect 3-5 weeks shipping (but it's free, c'mon). I've made a couple dozen orders from them, everything always arrives as expected, haven't disappointed me yet!

Thanks for the input guys. I ended up getting a 3-7x20 scope from Walmart. So I'll be able to return it if it's terrible. I can always use our real rifle scope if I want, but I don't think I'll ever need anything that quality for the short ranger I'll be shooting.

You should be fine with most anything on a pneumatic pump airgun. The spring-piston ones can be quite rough on scopes. Unlike a firearm the recoil impulse (on most types) goes back then almost immediately goes to the front. You don't feel recoil like on a firearm, but the shock can mess up a scope. The bi-directional nature of the recoil is unique to spring piston air rifles. It also makes being accurate with them fairly difficult and extremely dependent on how you hold the rifle.
