Half block a Sovereign?

I have been trying to start a half block cocker project for the past few weeks. I can't seem to find the right body style, but it hit me that my sovereign II would be perfect as a project. Does anyone know if it is possible to half block a sovereign. I know it doesn't have a back block, but i thought it would be a neat project to modify the bolt and cut the top tube of the body in half. Does anyone have any ideas if this could work?
