Shim stock for nightmare rebuild?
This is posted in the brass eagle section as well, just trying to get an answer...
For those of you well practiced in rebuilding nightmares, do you use the shim stock trick for installing the valve and pierce pin assemblies? If so what size shim stock do you have good luck with? I know the sticky thread says any thing thicker than .001, but what is a good thickness that makes the job easy, but the shim stock does not get damaged? Also, what size piece do you use? 8"x3" ?

As for measurements, I can't tell you honestly as I don't remember.
I got a Nightmare SB in a trade leaking, and attempted to repair it and trade it off.
After ruining several O-rings, I cut up a Bud can and used that to reinstall the valve. It worked like a charm, and I traded that Nightmare for a killer Sterling...............
Fearlessly, the idiot faced the crowd, smiling...
