I think you misunderstand that hole. You can take a raptor down below 300psi or so and still not leak out that hole. It will ONLY leak out of that hole when the o-ring is bad, or the piston is above it , which requires the adjuster to be almost all the way out. His piston o-ring is bad allowing a leak thru that hole. Earlier Raptors without that hole will leak out the adjuster when the piston o-ring is bad.

with the help of nunrleft (he sent me a manual) i can better understand what you guys are talking about. the piston is definitely not above the hole. i'm going to try (to find time) to degas it tonight and check the oring on the piston.

No, I understand the bleed off hole. But if you look at his pictures, one shows the adjuster backed way out, the other shows it removed completely. I had this problem when I got my first raptor. Did a complete rebuild of the reg and it still leaked. Only after I cranked the adjuster in (to around a 700 psi output) would it stop leaking. After that I was able to get it to fill and adjust the pressure anywhere from 200 to 1200 psi output without a problem.

I'm just trying to convey to him that he may be able to get this working without trying to track down a rebuild kit.
