Non-Paintball Specific Knee Pads for Paintball Play
Well, as the title suggests, is this worth trying?
I don't plan on sliding all over the place playing stock class/scenario in the woods, so would a pair of Volleyball/Work/Riding Knee pads
serve the purpose of keeping my knees safe or is it still advised to purchase sport specific pads?

In my experience, volleyball kneepads are fine as long as you don't run around too much. Run, and they tend to slip down and become ankle pads. Mounting biking knee/shin pads are pretty good, though. Nice and stable. Might chew up the back of your knees a bit, though, depending on how the straps are set up.

if you are looking at just knee pads, i suggest a Lowe's or Home Depot and look at the roofing/flooring knee pads. hell, there are a precentage of people that use mechanix gloves for play as well.
though, its a shame that Redz stopped making their knee pads. kevlar face, 4 straps to keep it in place. my knee pads have lasted 11-12 years and have saved my knees and legs countless times.

I used volleyball pads for years. Went through 2 pairs.
Picked up a pair of Dye kneepads, and like 'em alot.
I have used the dye's in excess of 5 years now.
My only complaint is that they slide down as the day gets longer and I get sweatier.
I have seen pball specific kneepads with velcro straps to cinch down the kneepad.
Probably the best type.
When I wear these ones out, I'll get the ones with the cinch straps.
The kneepads have saved me a few times when I have taken a spill in the woods.
My 2 cents....
