I am a big fan if the 50 hoppers and pods.

I use Winchester hoppers, stock they hold about 50. With the DYE lock-lid conversion a few more, so I use 50 pods with no problems.

If you replace the lid on your APP, you will convert it to 60 round hopper, so a 50 would work.

That said....

If you want to keep your APP 50 stock, 50 round hoppers can easily be converted to 40 round hoppers, just bond some foam in the bottom. It will take up the space, allow you to pack your paint until snug and even add some padding to prevent some breaks in case of a drop.

Good luck!

I just had this suggested to me the other day:
Use regular 140 round pods and keep a rag in your pocket.
Load up, insert rag in pod.

use the app 30-round tac pods. you can also get them at a lot of online paintball shops like tippmann parts and rockstar tactical. also, i've seen a few floating around in the mics parts bst forum so check that out too.

you can also make your own pods if you do not want to buy them. you can easily control how many balls they hold. that is what i did. i also suggest getting a pod lid to give some extra room for the balls to move around and load.
