Trracer power tube & bolt question

I have two sets of Trracer internals, one with an adjustable bolt, one without.

I would like to use the adjustable bolt but the sear on the combination power tube and hammer is broken that went with it. The outside diameter of the power tube from the non-adjustable bolt is a little to big to work with the adjustable bolt.

Is it a good idea to try to remove some material from the bnigger power tube so it will work with the adjustable bolt or am I likely to end up with two broken sets of parts?

I *think* you can try removing a little off the tube diameter. I'll check to see if I still have the spare valve setup (tube, cupseal, impulse seal, valve seat) from the spare Trracer parts at the house in case you need it.
