Tank Thread Issue

I recently had a couple of tanks hydrotested. One of the tanks came back with a piece of metal stuck in the threads of the tank. It appears to be steel, but I an but sure. I used a pick to remove a portion of it, but some of it is being stubborn.

What are the threads of this tank? Luxfer 68ci born in 2006.

If the tap is too expensive, can one of you fix it for me?

Sean

Likely the threads are damaged... I wouldn't trust it I had one launch at a field.

You don't want that to happen.

Its a good idea to NOT re tap a tanks threads.. If the threads are fouled, toss it.

Tank regs run about $40 for a nice ninja one. I would go that route.

I don't think you understood the OP. It has nothing to do with the reg.

Just buy a new tank, don't mess with one that has weakened threads.

The threads are good except for one small section of one groove. There is a piece of the old reg stuck in the groove. It is less than 1/4 inch long. The threads are tight on the new reg otherwise. The fault prevents the new reg from seating on the tank.

On bad thread can make the difference between tank and missile.

What exactly happened in this video? Obviously a tank blew, but what was he doing to it?
