357 to 3357 conversion?
 

OK, I got a Crossman 357 pellet pistol off my uncle. I've heard rumors that a conversion is possible. Is it? Also, the gun is missing a left grip, the barrel locking piece's spring, & the cylinder, so any help in finding these parts woud be appreciated.

Well Its better to just get a 3357 as you'll have to get one anyway for the barrel in most cases. IIRC thers some problems with the lever that rotates the cyclender. Best just to use the 357 as a pellet gun or for spare parts.

there was a guy selling the conversion barrel and cylinder, The conversion is very easy to do. I believe all the conversion kits are gone though. You will have to do some digging.

I converted one for me, and one for a buddy. Both worked great, but some did have problems rotating the cylinder.

Hmm...the digging commences....does anyone know if Crossman still sells parts for either one?

Crosman still has most of the parts and the conversions are easy to do. Just a little bit of filing. Id buy a 3357 and use the 357 as parts.

I was under the assumption that even stock 3357's had that issue.

I think that in reallity, every 3357 is only converted 357.

In any case, every gunsmith should be able to make the new front part and cylinder. I think about that make "conversion" for .43" RAM paint.

No way, .50 cal is already kind of frustrating when it comes to breaks. .43 wouldnt help it any, but if you want, it would be very easy to do it. Just get a 12 inch piece of .43 ID brass and line the cylinders and barrel shroud with it.
