Need Gun Opinions

I am looking for something new, but I'm not quite sure exactly what it is I'm looking for. I just want something that shoots really smooth, flat, and straight for less than $500. I have been shooting cockers for years, but recently just haven't been able to get mine shooting as nicely as I'd like. It may just be that the paint at the field hasn't been up to snuff recently, but I'd still like to look around. I am open to cockers, pumps, or newer electronic guns. I just want something that wows you when you pull the trigger. Rate of fire isn't that important to me, as I don't play tournaments anymore. In case you need an idea of where I am coming from:

Guns I have owned:
Autocockers- SFL, Works, multiple Orracles, multiple standard WGP cockers

Pumps- CCM S6.5, multiple cocker based pumps

Electros- Angel LCD, GZ Intimidator, impulse, Dark Intimidator, axe, vice

Guns I'm considering:

A nice cocker (belsales, shocktech, freeflow), G6R, ego, bob long victory, DM's, empire sniper

Really, I am open to anything. I just don't know exactly what to be looking at for a gun that shoots crazy smooth and straight. Hit me with some ideas, fellas.

Try a new resurection cocker. Sweet gun with a barrel kit and warranty.

I've also been shooting and building cockers for years, since 1998 or so. I absolutely love the Resurrection. It needs no upgrades, feels fantastic (very light and comfortable for a cocker--very modernized feel), and shoots great. I've got plenty of current and older high ends and I find myself going to the Res more often than not just because it's so good and so fun to use. I don't think there's a better choice for you.

Yeah,

I'm with the above. The Resurrection is mighty nice, and I'm not really a cocker guy.

But just for the record, no marker shoots straighter or flatter than any other, all other things being equal. These are functions of paint, barrel, and velocity.

Dye NT

They got a bad reputation but all the issues have been ironed out by now. Mine shoots flat out fantastic for what I paid. You can find them from 3-400 if you look. I paid $250 for mine haha Budget $75 to send it to Billy Wing and get it tuned. Mine came back with the single best trigger job on any marker I have ever had, and it shoots like a dream. Plus it's super tiny and light

Also it's way out of your budget, but LV1's are insanely smooth, they don't shoot like any ego before them.

Thanks a lot for the recommendations guys. Keep them coming. I may do some investigation tomorrow. Resurrection and NT have me intrigued.
Do the resurrections need any upgrades to shoot nice, or are they pretty dialed in out of the box?

Pull it out and shoot, they're probably one of the best deals in PB today haha.

You get one of the best barrel kits on the market, the lifetime empire warranty and IMO a fantastic slider frame. Plus all the modern things a gun should have, clamping feedneck, on/off ASA, and the quick-threaded cocker barrels.

If you weren't "wowed" by a Works cocker, how is a Resurrection going to "wow" you? The Works (if set up properly) is far superior to a Resurrection.

I would recommend finding your style of play (SC, pump, mech, electro) and go from there.

If the S6.5 did not impress, I am not sure there are any pumps that will impress you. Luv my S6 and I really like my S6.5 (very close 2nd to my S6), unless you just like the sliders over the hinge trigger frames.

Even with the nicest gun, with crappy paint, you get sub-par accuracy....nothing more frustrating than playing pump with crappy paint.

Even a Besales or Eclipse cocker is not a huge improvement over what you shot.

Mags are nice...but a cocker will have a smoother trigger pull! (flame suit on).

What I like:

SC: R7 or a Carter (never owned a Carter) or VSC phantom
PUMP: CCM S6 or S6.5 (J12...if you can find one)
MECH: Works/S5, Belsales (longer trigger pull than a S5 or Works) or Eclipse..the Blazer is also very nice
Electro: Viking or a Borg (06 Sonic or 07)

That would be my list....good luck on finding the holy grail...the S6 is mine!
