What barrel is this?

I'm almost 100% that it's a J&J as my SL has one, but the coating on this barrel is weird. This barrel is fit for a VM-68 & I've tried brasso and it hasn't done a thing. Is this some anno job or just old age?

Thanks!

Looks exactly like the old J&J barrel I had on my VM.

That one, however, was hard-chromed brass. This one looks like it was powder-coated brass, but it has been severly worn?

I had an ancient BB gun that looked the same way. The chrome had worn, and the underplating was spotty like that.
