Question Airtech Designs

I heard once that Airtech Designs (the people that made the nice pump barrel bodies for nelsons) became DYE. Is that true?

Not likely as DYE is Dave Youngblood Enterprises. Dave was Mr. Carters employee who wanted to make a name for him self with Mr Carters products. All the one piece SS barrels were made by Mr. Carter, (first product)

Airtech designs were the designers of the matrix... which became property of then Diablo Direct... Gen-E then bought the rights to the matrix.. and then later sold it to dye...

So.. airtechs ideas became dyes not the actuall compmany

AirTech Design, True Information

The Company that was Originally known as AirTech Design, Which Produced the Highest Quality Nelson Most Awesome Pump action Paintball Guns and Accessories from the Late 80's to early 90's, Ceased operations due to Financial difficulties incurred by entering the International market, and choosing to Ship on Open Invoicing worldwide, as the distributors increased Orders, Payment slowed from 90 to 120 day's, to NO PAYMENTS, and calling to collect!!. They ended up Closing the Doors, Deep In Debt!!!! This was the End of an Era for the original Airtech Design. They did not sell out, or merge with anyone!, They simply 'Shut Down Operations' and Vanished into the History Books!!!!!!!

??? Neat that you know so much. I mean that completely without sarcasm, but are you affiliated with any of the companies in question? I only ask as it seems you have some investment.

I remember them-
They produced those silly gold-plated nelsons in the late 80s.

I don't think they were the ones that made the OMEGA? Or had anything to do with DYE?

Edit: It was Airtech INDUSTRY that made the OMEGA, which was sold and renamed to GEN-E, then DYE.

Maybe Airtech Designs, and Airtech Industry are the same? but unlikely. Airtech Industry seemed like a garage company when they were making the Omega prototypes

Airtech design I believe was located it Mountain View Ca. They did put out some great stuff. I would love to get ahold of one of the 7" barrel kits for nelspots. They also made the gold plated Nelson. That is rare if you have one. They were an awsome company back in the day. Then one day they just dissapeard like so many. It was just the begining of paintball then and drop in kits. Man I wish paintball px was still around. They did some great 007 mods.

I Definitely had a connection to the Original Airtech Design, As the Founder and Principal Owner. We were one of the early developers of the Nelspot Based Long Barrel Pump guns, multiple constant air high performance accessories and product, one of our notable advertising campaigns included the 24 kt Gold plated long guns, complete with suppressors (ref. 1988 Adventure game magazines), and sponsored full and 5 man Teams for competition such as Havoc and the Flintstones., Field guns could be found at organizations such as Fields of Fire, Santa Clarita, to Central Coast Challenge, Santa Maria. We originated as the Manufacturer providing Product exclusively to the original Skirmish retailer based in Reseda, Ca. Eventually, the Business grew so rapidly that we had to branch out as the behind the scenes manufacturer to dozens of companies such as Gramps and Grizzly, Adventure Sports, and a whole plethora of other retailers. The manufacturing operation was based in Valencia, CA, and remained there until it's demise, it appears that after the end of the Airtech Designs era, that other producers utilized derivatives of the name. The original Airtech Design Products were Definitely identifiable by some of the Highest Quality Standards and the most innovative stying of it's day, with many variations of the Legend platform. I enjoyed working with the early developers of Paintball game products, people such as Aaron Carter, Bud Orr, Ross Alexander, Gramps (of Gramps and Grizzly) and so many more. It was a Very Fun time!
