Chrome vs nickel plating

Hey all,

I have a brass barrel I want to coat so it'll match some annoed aluminum. The aluminum isn't super shiny or anything, kind of frosted. Would a nickel coat be a closer match to the aluminum than chrome?

Is the nickel plating strong? Stronger than chrome?

Who, other than palmers, does nickel plating for a decent price?

Almost all chrome platers are also nickel platers because nickel is commonly used as a base for the chrome. Go to a local hog shop and they will know where the platers are (if not in house)

To your other question... Yes. Nickel plating is nice and tough. I'd take it over chrome any day.
