The ram is a CCM ram and may be compatible with the back portion of a different later model CCM ram, ask CCM they should know. I would also try to bend it to repair but be careful not to crush it.
I have also never seen something like that. It probably means they stripped all the threads on the back block and use that to lock it in place, or they just put it on there to lock it in place for the heck of it? Hard to say without removing it but it looks like it will be a pain to get off.

Just looks like a washer to cover the exposed threads, I've seen similar on other mini's where the pump arm sticks out a bit.
It wouldn't do anything for stripped threads since it would need to be on the other side. All of the pressure is on the threads when the BB pushes out, not when it pulls in.

Didnt consider that, I guess it would be pretty useless in returning the back block if that was the case.
