oil

I've noticed a lot the more I am on these boards that every gun seems to have it's own must use oil. Is this marketing or is there really that big of a differance between the differant brands of guns and oils?

I've never used anything but air tool oil in any of mine. No complaints.

Ditto non-detergent air tool oil, cheap and works great.

I think its all the same. In the end, all paintball guns are pneumatic devices, so the the oil needed is going to be similar. The reasoning for the recommendations are put best by AKA, "We only recommend our lube because we know whats in it."

I use KC troublefree, because I noticed it doesn't turn black after a while like gold cup, automag lube, or java oil. I found absolutely no performance difference between the oils. Some may work better in freezing temps. but I don't live where it snows so it doesn't affect me.

I'd be careful with Hoppes (firearm oil) as it may have a negative effect on rubber components.
