| Are the AKA tornado valves worth the 70 bux plus shipping for cockers ? What exactly do they do ? I think the one I just got has stock internals, but I'm not sure. ![]() |

| Ultimate Battle Monkey Z | Big *** internal area with a tiny pin. It helps with volume, which allows you lower pressure. Performance gain by itself? Meh. Gain as part of a whole gun low pressure refit, probably worth it. I'd doubt you'd see much difference unless you tuned your springs and had a lightened hammer or something.

| Tornado valves let you drop the operating pressure of a Cocker by A LOT - at least, compared to what the older Cockers used to run at. I believe you can go as low a 200-250 psi, with a full size Cocker, possibly even lower with the newer Cockers with the opened up passageways. AKA always recommended a LPC chamber on the older Cockers to increase the volume of air in front of the valve. Is it worth it? Depends - do you want to be able to run at a low pressure? You need to upgrade to a high flow bolt as well, and a non-ported barrel really helps too. I don't know if they're worth it - I've got a Rat 3:16 valve I'm going to try out that should let me drop the pressure to close to that of a Tornado, and I didn't pay anything for it. It came with a body I bought, so basically free. I've never been a huge fan of LP Cockers - too often it's not done right, and you have low pressure with low efficiency. It's got a few bonuses - quieter, and easier on the paint since you can lower your pressure on the ram due to the lighter springing - but you will need to tinker with it a bit to get it right. (Then again, that applies to Cockers too. Jordan

| MCB Member | A PPS valve performs the same if not better though probably at higher operating pressures. Hammer spring will be the same or lighter on the PPS valve which you will prefer for a pump. PPS valve is way cheaper. That said, AKA valves are great, though you wouldnt see me buying one new - they are top notch. But so are PPS valves. New Stock valves are pretty dang good and really its hardly worth changing them. I would upgrade when i got a cup seal leak which might be never, but otherwise the newer stock cocker valves are great. Your valve is definately newer but who knows what it is since so many FF bodies were sold as kits. Might even have a FF valve, which will be super. |

| No real reason to change from what you have in there. When using a cocker we tried to find the most efficent valve to squeez the most amount of shots out of the gun. AKA valves were good for this, but in a rec-ball or pump setting it wont really do you any good, unless your wallet is to heavy and needs lightened...lol. I personally could care less what pressure my cocker/sniper is running at, if it works well and isnt a gas hog, its good. The only reason to lower your pressure on a pump gun would be for a lighter pump stroke.

| No a stock valve can be ported and polished( if you have the skills) to work quite close if not better because it will be omni gas like a Palmer valve. Remember a larger out let need to be matched to the body passage hole and the bolt for best performance. |
