| Nelson Powertubes Hey all, What are the difference in the powertubes? What does a 4 vs. a 6 mean? Thanks!

| I Am The Admin | Air Flow... The larger the number, the more air flow it allows through. So a 6 will allow more air to flow then a 4. So if you have low FPS, you can increase it, by increasing your air flow.

| Thus a 4 would be more efficient than a 6?

| I Am The Admin | Well... That depends. A 4 means, you have less air flow. So that means, you need a heavier main spring so the hammer will hit the valve tube harder, and open it up more or for a longer time to allow the right amount of air through to get 300 fps. We've always said, that you should start with your lightest main spring, and largest (#6) power tube and a heavy power tube spring. This combo gives you the optimum efficiency. Now, it won't be perfect, so then you'll need to tweak it. Always try to tweak the springs first, and then go to the power tubes.

| I Am The Admin | Oh, and again, that's aiming for 300... if you're playing indoors and fps is 260 lets say, then changing the power tube to a 4 might be worth your trouble. CB

| I've always tried to go for the weakest main spring possible to avoid hammer bounce (hammer bouncing on valve tube, let bits of air out each time, jacking up your efficiency). Weak main spring means you need a bigger tube. My carters tube is so big that the main spring is weak enough for me to dry cock the gun. |
