I have been looking around for some cheap options to conventional "paintball gun oil", namely those that I can just grab locally. Would this stuff be okay?

careful for stuff that claims to have 'seal conditioners' I find that means O RING MELTERS.

You want plain air tool oil with no "conditioners, solvents, detergents," etc.

Do you have a cycling shop nearby? Tri-flow is a good option. Not the cheapest, but for the quantity paintballers use, it should last quite some time.
