SF frame question

How bad are they, really? I know the membrane pad sucks, but outside of that, what else? I really only use semi, so if it's the modes that you hate, it's a moot point for me.

Also, anyone have an aftermarket solution to the board?

Jordan

I have one on my trilogy tac that I bought off of Simmy952. It works well enough although you need to always have fresh batteries on hand or it will act funny. Once I put in a fresh battery, it performed flawlessly at fall castle.

The main problem is a lack of a manual, but MondoMor explains everything here:
Question about Superstock Select Fire

They're not bad. Very similar to the original e-blades. They lack adjustability like the Eclipse frames and that's why most folks talk down about them. They work well and other than the lousy membrane switch and the atrocious battery usage they are a good alternative to the more expensive Eclipse Eblades. The secret is to instlall the battery just before you start playing and remove it immediately after you stop. Leaving the battery in the gun kills it really quickly for some reason. As far as the membrane pads go; the reason they break so often is that people push on them way too hard. They only need a brief, light touch to make contact. If you use gorilla strength on them you're gonna ruin them fast but if you experiment to find the lightest touch that works they will last as long as any other membrane switch.

I believe Scenario Dreams Universal T-Board is the only true aftermarket board that will work with that frame. Another board manufacturer had an offer to do a flash upgrade to the stocker's software but it was almost as expensive as a whole new T-Board and not much less than buying a used Eclipse Eblade1.

it's not bad, just take the jumper off for semi only. I did not like the magnetic return, I like springs for some reason. Probably why I got rid of it, I just like mags more.

and like Mr. Furious said take the battery out I killed four 9 volts in three weeks leaving them in the frame, It seems like the frame is never off it's just either on safe or fire never actualy off. Rayovac sells a 9v-2pak for a dollar at walmart, I used those so it didn't hurt so much when it died.

The select fire on my Black Magic is fine.
If you don't need to rip 20+ bps.
Nobody REALLY does. You'll be ok.
