| MCB Member Join Date: Jun 2007 Location: Arizona | Good starter gun for friends that want to play pump so this weekend i let my friends try out my kp2 and they were pretty impressed to say the least so they told me to start searching for pump guns for them. so what do you think is a good gun to go with that would be lower cost, about the 80 to 120 range, and that wont just stop working the second my friends touch them and end up with me rebuilding it for them... i was thinking maybe tippmann sl-68 because im very familiar with tippmanns but basically what guns do you think will be best for a group of new players that want to play pump? oh and if you have a gun that is like what i describe feel free to pm me over post it in my WTB post i have for this here thanks for your help and hopefully soon enough we'll have a couple new pumpers g0ofy |

| MCB Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Minnesota | there are always cheap snipers on the BST forum here and other places. You should be able to get into one for $120-ish. I started with Trracers - but got hooked and outgrew them pretty quickly. I then passed them on for cheap to other starting players - and the cycle continues. If they seem serious - by spending an extra $50 over the price of the Trracer you can prob get them into a gun that will last a long time. That said - MASK MASK MASK first. If they're already paintball players - then they've got masks, if not - have them spend the big bucks on the mask and get them into a $40 Trracer/SL68II. It'll be better in the long run. |

Shave off the front sight on the hand guard so they do not use it (it will wobble left & right causing them to shoot inaccurately if they try to use it.) I put a zip strip on the front of the barrel to allow new people to use the sites. By using the sites, new people are a bit more accurate than sighting down the side of the barrel on the first shot and they seem to get a bit more confident.
