| Post Whore Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: St.Catharines Ontario Canada | solenoid voltage question I'm cannibalizing older grip frames to make something else and I'm wondering if a solenoid, the type found in Kingman, Tippmann, or PMI grips can be attached directly to the 9V battery, with a switch; or does the voltage need to be adjusted? kinda like this: ![]() or would this release the mysterious Blue Smoke the electronic Gods have e hidden inside?

Spyder boards have a big honkin' capacitor on them, and use a 9.6V battery. You might want to figure out if you can find a mfg spec for the solenoid you want to use, it should tell you the voltage and amperage ranges required for operation. Alternately, get a working board and measure the noid wires with a multimeter. |
