Is the breach end of a Freak insert beveled/chamfered all the way to the OD??
If so, no problem, if not, the ball will encounter a sharp step up as it gets chambered. One possible solution then would be a ramp type of spring-loaded retention mechanism (Mega-Z style) oriented at the bottom.
Good luck and post pics!

Sergi set up a PGP to use inserts so anything is possible....Sounds like somebody just doesn't want to go to the trouble....
Ya know, I just thought of something. Once you bored the back for .750 to take the insert, you'd still have to do the barrel for .700 lest you use an insert that is bigger than the .685-689 your barrel is....I could see paint popping in the barrel as several thou were just shaved off.....

I thought about doing it to a unibody taso that I had.. but after going over the costs Vs. out come. I figured it was easier and less work to just tap the gun for a detent to prevent roll outs.
I could care less about the bore size issue I just wanted to be able to cock my lever action with out having a roll out.
