Raincovers.

Back in the days I used to think they were cool. I'd see them for sale in those HUGE multi-page ads that I&I would put out and I'd be drooling over them.

Then when I finally saw them first hand & observed that they were just spray painted PVC & often times broke balls for you ( ) that fascination ended pretty quickly.

Although Cal Ord. did make some spiffy looking ones made out of aluminum if I remember correctly.

Any other "can" fans out there?

Do you remeber the little "Hastings" rain covers? They worked great and you could buy various adaptors to fit other guns.

I tried one on my Cocker and it was very wierd to hear the balls go all the way to the target. "ssssssssssSplat!"

What did they look like? The ones I remember were usually a pvc outer shell spray painted matte black.

The inside was steel wook held in place either my some wire mesh and/or another pvc tube with holes drilled into it.

I forget how they were sized? Didn't you have to state if it was for a N/S or PMI due to o.d. differences of the barrel?

I remember the best ones didn't use "mesh" or foam, but instead used a series of spaced, conical inserts as sound baffles.

However, those are harder to duplicate, though I've tried using washers, and that seemed to work very well.

I've also used one of those "chrome lawnmower mufflers" sold at walmart, and home-depot. The ID of those is .75, and, oddly, work very well.

But thats all before the ATF went silly. Honestly, better off just using a HEAVILY ported barrel with a spool-type gun.

Anyone here ever try the BOA Concealer? I'm picking one up for my A-5.

I know Chefdave has a couple BOA Concealers with various threading. Hopefully he'll chime in here and say how well they work. If not, you could PM him.

"raincovers" guys we dont want the ATF coming in and taking away all our sigh-lens-hers.

I did get to shoot a Vector with a BOA Concealer on it though...it was'nt silent but did deaden the crack.
