Not the degree (I've had that for well over a year now), the JOB .

I once heard two teenage kids who didn't know squat complaining about having to learn advanced (i.e. beyond y=mx+b) algebra and that no good job used math.

I laughed and said, "How is $55k+ starting out of college NOT a good job?"

I explained a bit (in simple english) what I do (I'm an engineer), and they couldn't even come up with a retarded comeback.

Though the PIA thing about knowing stuff is that then you're always pestered with questions and can't get your work done

Edit: I've had the $$ for a while . How do you think I financed my blazer. This rifle is going to cost about the same as Vera. I'll have had Vera for a year this coming May (well, late May). And then there was the revamping of my car's audio system......(only thing left stock is the speaker wiring, and all that's left is 4-channel amp for my speakers, better speaker wire, and some dampening padding for the door speakers to silence rattle from bass that exceeds the subwoofer's cutoff freq....), and....

I need to stop spending $$ on pball projects (yeah, riiiiiiiiight) and start putting money into a good high yield savings account so I can put a good downpayment on a house. I'm sick of having to hunt around for quarters b/c that's the only thing the appartment complex's washers & dryers will take (AND they increased the price too *grrrr* to a $1.25/load in the washers and $1.00/load for the dryers. And I don't normally carry cash that I can get some grocery clerk to split into $5 worth of quarter rolls). You know, I'd trade my SS-25 + $$ right now for the luxury of having my own washer and dryer.

Kind of tough to find the room to dry 'em when your apartment is only 527 sq ft.

Had to do that once when the dryer ate my remaining quarters then refused to turn on. I had a full load including all my pball clothing, and was going to play the next day. My jersey and pants dried out well enough (I draped them on my recliner near my computer), but the rest was a PItA to dry out, though.
