or something from a Terry Gilliam movie. Should be pretty cool.

Though, from what I remember about Carters Vector, it was EAR-DRUM splitting. Not really loud, but piercing. Kinda like firing a 22mag pistol.

Here is a PPS barrel "enhanced" with a part from a fire extinguisher that Craig found next door after a neighboring business went belly up.

This one is loud, but it also rings like a bell. Further, if I take it out of the gun, I have figured out how to play it like a fox hunting horn.

The diameter of the bell doesnt have as much of an effect as the overal length of the bell. Well sort of anyways if you kept the same bell flare. BAsicly sound (vibration) travels backwards before going forwards out the bell, its a very odd concept to picture. Somwhere theres a great explanation of this, Ill dig for it.

Edit It might be a while before I can find that explanation as its not where I thought it was, Ill still keep digging but after work.

not really, the idea is to create a pressure wave form that does not have a destructive pattern in it, a long enough 'loudener' will deaden the loudening effect as the waveform bounces around and self nullifies.

ideally, you should tune the loudener to the gun and individual barrel, this will allow you to place the loudener at the greatest point of synergy between the competing soundwaves.

it sounds silly, but it works.

A good way to add extra brass to your marker, AND you can double as the official Carter's Commando bugler!

Get an old, crappy barrel for it and cut it down as short as possible. That would be LOUD.

Or just a barrel adapter (ie Lapco) and not use a barrel. I've done both and they work well as a "poor man's boomstick"!
