Would this be considered dangerous. I wish to save time when bringing people to a paintball meet by having the markers ready and pre-checked when we arrive in the playing area. Every time I go, as I mount the tanks on site, I have surprises: blown orings/ leaking markers/ etc etc.

If their in the bed of a truck or the trunk of a car, you'll probably be fine (note the probably). In the passenger space will not go over well at all if you're pulled over. There's no danger in the physical aspect of it, the danger is in what you do with a "loaded" paintball gun or what a cop thinks you're doing with it. |

You also have a chance of the gun receiving excessively high pressures if your trunk heats up right before the burst disk goes. I don't think that most modern guns with temperamental solenoids would not have a regulator but a scenario might exist where you would not want the tank on the gun as it is heated in your trunk. |

I've got to agree. Get some tank o-rings. If you like, check the rings and seal at home before leaving. If you have leaks, fix it all in advance. Putting the marker into your car in a state where it is ready to fire like that is ill-advised. I equate it to loading a real firearm and keeping it in the car when going to the range. Even if you leave it in the trunk, I think it is just an unneccecary risk. If you're worried about this, then you have already told yourself it is a bad idea. | |

Plus, dont expect a non playing officer to know the difference between the gun being powered up and air turned on, and it sitting there in a safe mode.
