When to take action?

Well to make a long story short, I have been on the recieving end of a few bad sales involving paintball markers purchased from a few different members on different paintball specific forums. I have had more bad deals in the last few weeks, heck one was just last week, than I have had in the 7 years that I have been gunwhoring. Its rather depressing and I don't want to waste the time to pursue these people. Fixing broken markers that were supposed to be working when purchased is not a job I signed up for. Especially when the the repairs will cost time and at least 1/3 of what was spent on the marker. Then there is the fact that it is blatently obvious that there is no possible way the marker could have been called anything close to working condition especially since the package that it was sent it was in excellent shape. Then there is the clown who offers excuses like, my buddy who sold you the gun is in Jail and the package he sent you got returned because the address is wrong after you told them to use the papal address and you give it to them again anyways just to make sure. Well tomorrow it will be 3 weeks for the worst offender in particular and I havent heard a peep from him since 2 fridays ago. Is there any way to find and or punish these people? Luckily I have been using my CC while paying by paypal.

This is one reason that I generally only sell things to people I know. Sure, that means I sit on a lot of paintball treasures that might well thrill someone else, but I prefer that to feeling ripped off.

I have not had a problem EVER (knocking on wood) at this site. I had one issue years ago on SCP, but that was it.

If you only sell/buy with those you know, it is a lot more satisfying and predictable.

Yes, it is impractical and the solution I pose does nothing to answer your question, but know that I am, at least, sympathetic.

Good luck,
D

Thanks Drum, at least when something goes awry at this site, I usually don't get too angry because I could make my money back if I part the marker out.

That's why I've only ever bought/traded on MCB and the old BEOG (which was also a very honorable place). Too many variables dealing with people I don't know.

I thought I was safe on eBay and paying through Paypal - but being a nice guy I still managed to get ripped off by one particular seller... twice!

Even following all the rules it's still possible to get sharked. But then you get on MCB and find a load of decent, honest people who bend over backwards to help you...

I sympathise with you man - you've just got to believe in Karma. Whoever ripped you off (the guy in jail), well he's got a new boyfriend called Bubba and hopefully the others will come down with a real bad case of diahorrea.

You've just got to keep your chin up and try to make the best of it.

EDIT: If you get to breaking point, just pick up the phone and call Paypal Customer Services. I've had to deal with them a few times and they've always been really friendly and sympathetic. You could also log in to Paypal and open a complaint based on the payment/transaction number...

These posts always get me off. As a newer member (I joined in November) I have bought 5 guns here so far. I never bothered setting up a feedback thread for myself until a few days ago. I would like to be able to deal with anyone on here without the seller having to worry about being ripped off. I pride myself on being a "stand up guy" and my word means I WILL do what I say I will but then you have some butt munch pulling like this and ruining that. As Drum said he will only sell to people he knows and it is because of people who are a waste of skin that don't care. As far as I am concerned anything you can do to fix this so you get some or all your money back I would do. Sorry I know this doesn't help you at all, but it is just some Donkey's who ruins thing for the good people.

Did any of your bad transactions occur here? Like the spastic panda said, let us know who the perps are.

Bouncy panda, you can't post in the Hall of Shame, mods move threads TO there when deemed necessary.

Well it was advertised in good overall condition, but since he had no charger, I am guessing he really had no way to truly test it. I knew something was a bit off but like I said, I can make my money back in parts.

P.S. Is anyone interested in non brass Blazer Barrels?
