Vector or E-mag/X-mag?

Howdy!,

Just wanted to know your opinions on what I should get first because I am about to start Speedball and want to show that I AM old school and want an E-mag/X-mag, mostly to make the opposition a wtf look on their face when they see the marker I'm using (and because Mags are great overall!)

Either I get a vector first, or I get an E-mag/X-mag. Since I don't have a lot of money and can't get some quickly ( I can only get a HPA tank in December for paintball membership reasons at my field so I can't use the E-mag right away ) I'm leaning towards the E-mag as a long term project that is to be achieved by the end of the year and not sure if I should buy a vector which I always wanted to try out.

Thanks!,
-Oliver

I have not owned a Mag since the Level 7 days, but I have owned a lot of Vectors. I would say the Mag is going to be more reliable for you. "Old school"? Maybe not so much, but if you want to stay more competitive and shoot every game, go with the Mag.

That said, a Vector is plenty fast for most speedball and so loud that you will basically negate the other teams ability to communicate with one another, especially if you shoot a lot and it is a smallish (or indoor) fields.

Also, the Air Power Vector is STILL the most accurate (read as; the whole package consistent + comfort + pointability, etc) paintball gun I have ever shot. And remember, I have never shot an E or Xmag.

Good luck,
D

You just answered your own question on X-mag vs E-mag. An X-mag will set you back roughly $1200 right now. Whereas you can find a decent E-mag for around $600.

Either an inflatable bunker or a tree, both work for me.

I MAY disagree with Drum on this, depending on how you play. A Vector will give you 8 - 9 bps, but I don't think you will ever go above that. If you are a back player and need to lay down paint to shut down lanes, that firepower may not work for you, or more importantly, for your front guys. If you play mid or front, the Vector should be fast enough and will surely be accurate enough. Mine are as accurate as any I have, including AKA's and mags. However, a Vector may be a bit heavy for a front player if you are slight of build as many front players are.

Forget an Xmag; if your budget is limited, the Xmag is not for you. Guseppe is about right on the price for one. An Emag, on the other hand, may work for you. With 1.37 beta, you should have all the fire modes you can use in speedball, and it will be as fast as the field limit allows. It will be reliable, and you can shut off the electronics if those give you a problem. You may be able to pick up one for $500.00 with an Emag valve on it rather than an X-valve, and you can always upgrade to heart's content and your wallet's limit. Best of all, it will be completely functional with no NEED for upgrades beyond your own personal preference.

YES, I got the legendary drum to reply to me(I play indoors all the time, even during summer, I love my field I know everyone that works there )! well, Atleast I'll have agglets asking me what that E-mag is, If I decide I want a vector instead of my 360 for my birthday, I'll be glad to bring it on the field and Blow out an eardrum or two

I'll be front player BTW, Right now I'm playing with my VSC Phantom, I love it!

Thank you all!,

I vote for the vec then save loot for an Emag. I really dont see the appeal in the Xmags as they are mostly twice the cost of Emags. Having said that I do happen to own both an Emag and a vec. Now while I love them both I have to say that the vec is a bit longer then what a lot of people like nowadays. But the legendary accuracy is worth it to me. Plus the deafening sounds it provides is a huge benefit as it will disrupt mostly those infront of it with its report. Now if you want small and speedy go with the mag.

But with vecs going between 250-350 id opt for a vec first then save for the emag, both will find their niche in your armory. If you only want one though perhaps the mag might be better as finding spares and other parts will be much easier.

I was just proposed a part time job 10$ per hour and I'm not even 15!, I guess I'll head for the Vector first but I just can't seem to find one, I'll keep my eyes peeled on B/S/T

Thanks again!

I own both guns (In fact I have 3 vectors). I've been thinking about liquidating some p-ball assets and the e-mag lowers will be first to go. (I just haven't had the heart to pull the trigger yet). I say lowers because I've got a Pneu-frame on the way so I need the rest of the gun.

Pick up the vector and save some cash. Watch ebay for a good deal on the e-mag. I picked up mine (X-Valve & ULE body) for a lot less than is being quoted in this thread.

Don't get me wrong, the e-mag is fun (Especially hybrid mode), It just doesn't have as much soul as the Vector.
