They feed upside down, I've done it with a squall
And you and I also discussed the op's concept in semi detail over beers before.

i wouldn't say any example would, but I did it with a PPS gun with the curved feed plug.
one challenge with under barrel is the rear feed plug..

And depending on your valve system, you will have to get creative with your bolt.

as you now APS do an under feed shotgun (I have one here at the moment that I was converting to bolt action) the tricky thing is is that the pump actually finishes the end of the loading sequence, by this I mean that the spring unit is attached to the pump so the balls are pushed by the pump at the end of its cycle into the breach.

interesting... maybe having a ramp 'bumping' the paintball in place past a dedent? never though of that...

my original plan was to use a constant force spring pushing a delrin plug or something so that every last ball is pushed into the chamber? and haveing the spring dedents (already in the traccer) preventing the balls from rolling forward?

oh and you guys where talking about filling the old feed holes... with out welding do i have many options?

cheers

but it's only a 8 ball round IIRC, i want 10 to 15... the problem with normal springs is that they loose force as the expand (for a compression spring needed for this application). I'm just worried that under full compression it could break balls, and under full extension it may not be enough to chamber the ball.. and that means chopped balls...

then there's the fact that i want the loader to run parallel to the barrels so the spring needs to be able to push the paintballs through the 90 degree turn...

i'm going to play with this constant pressure spring idea and see what happens... but please keep inputting your suggestions... many heads are greater than one right?

Check out boltsniper's custom built bolt action here:

All Aluminum Paintball (and Nerf) Bolt-action Rifle - NerfHaven

It looks like it functions similar to a pump Spyder, with a spring feed under the barrel. Very cool looking.
