Hey all, I've been seeing some Rex brand markers for sale by I&I on ebay and was wondering what the deal was with them....Cheap Taiwanese knockoffs? Decent or crappy cheap Taiwanese knockoffs? Replacement parts/repairs available or are they a use them and throw them away marker brand? Thanks!

I would suggest spending the small bit extra to move up from a Rex to a used "real" cocker. I think you'll be happier in the long run. |

| Active Member | I can't really say anything about most of their models but I'm very happy with my Odyssey o3m which I understand is nearly identical to the Rex M2 autococker knockoff though mine has an E2 and other upgrades. It's a good body and internals but the ram, 3-way, and frame are begging for upgrades. The body is very light for a full-body P-block cocker, the sides are very thin, and the anno on mine was very good, thick and even with a great bluish-green color the dusting was super-heavy which atleast with my color works well because it almost seems to color-shift depending on the angle and light it's viewed in. The bolt is a very serviceable and good "delrin" bolt with two o-rings. It's a cheap grade of delrin (if it's even actual delrin) but it works just fine. The only real negative thing about the body and bolt are that it uses a vertical bolt pin. Only really an issue if you're determined to change the bolt. If you want to keep it mech or pump it it may bother you that it comes drilled for an e-blade eye and has a oversized eye cover that hugs the body contours. I prefer this eye-cover to the tiny eclipse eye cover because it hugs up to the body and is very good protection for the eye. The stock valve is not a regular autococker valve it's a Black Magic style valve with the large air chamber and no valve nut but that doesn't really matter because it's an excellent valve- it gets great efficiency at 250 psi with the stock springs. I have an Eclipse Rex Dialer and the hammer that came with that in mine but there's nothing wrong with the stock hammer, IVG, and cocking rod that comes with it. I never used the silly bottom-line reg that comes with it. It works by using the tank pin-valve as a piston. Seemed like a great way to wear-out the pin-valve seat that wasn't designed for use like that. I ditched it for an on-off ASA and threw a CP reg on it. I'd recommend anyone else do the same. I just can't see the stock "reg" being even remotely consistent and I'd wager the tank regs pin valve will thank you for sparing it the unnecessary abuse. The stock ram is very smooth but the seals in it wore out quickly and it started leaking. It also had no internal bumpers so it's clicky. I replaced it wit an MPP ram with QEVS and was very happy with the upgrade. The frame has an ugly rough trigger pull with a lot of slop and unnecessary play and movement. It works but it's not desireable. The 3-way is plain garbage it hangs up and doesn't move smoothly. Neither of these things bothered me because I put an E2 on my 03m immediately. It's likely that some tweaking and polishing could produce a serviceable mech frame from the stock parts but I'd recommend ditching them as soon as possible. The LPR probably isn't the best but I've seen no reason to change it. I've had no problems with anything that would indicate any LPR deficiencies. Seems like a good part. The feedneck is a clamping neck that uses an allen key. The feedneck is Spyder with tabs style though the tabs are a bit smaller so you'd have to file down the tabs to make any aftermarket feedneck work. That's all I can think of. Out of the box I couldn't recommend it when WGP cockers are so cheap. But as a project it's a good body with good internals though it has a few quirks and metric oddnesses. |

| Paintball Customs Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Meridian, Idaho | I shoot a Type R as my electro and it is decent. Works like a wrath and functions great with a reg on it. I am currently using an R3 for another project. They work like an Ebolted 98c but more efficient and work at lower pressure. Not a bad gun for the price. The local store owner bought the last of the Type R's and I think he has 200-300 of them in stock for $120-130. Nice markers for the price IMHO and it beats toting around an SP crap marker.

| Active Member | Yeah they're produced by the same company that built the Wraths for Diablo. I have a Wrath LTD and it's a good gun. Shoots reasonable smooth and consistent. My only real issues with my Wrath are that it's LOUD and the eye logic could be better. Really it's horrendously loud even with a good barrel (stock barrel is actually pretty nice) which is surprising because it gets pretty decent efficiency. The eyes work fairly well, never had a problem in semi, but it may chop while ramping if your loader lets the pressure off the stack. When I was using my egg with the wrath I would have a problem with it occasionally chopping the 6th or 7th ball in a rapid-fire string. Once the loader got spinning and pushing balls down the neck it wouldn't chop past that. Makes me think the loader lets the pressure off the stack and the ball bounces in the breach and gets clipped by the bolt. This is elevated to a major annoyance because sometimes it would jam the gun with a ball pinched between the bolt and body jamming the bolt forward. At the time I bought it it was about the same price as an Ion and that was really your only other option in mid-priced electro guns that weren't sear-tripping blowbacks. I think that at the time it was a better gun than the Ion mainly because it came with a good consistent reg (internally identical to a Bob Long Torpedo). Now though there are so many options in the mid-priced realm its ridiculous. I don't think the Rex guns come with the same reg that the Wraths did so I can't recommend them but the company is capable of producing good guns. |

| Post Whore Join Date: Apr 2006 | A friend bought one with the intention of it becoming a sniper. Stock, it was pure garbage. The bottom line reg thingy was junk and we replaced it with a regular ASA. The vert reg looking thing is a gas through. The gun was incredibly loud until the lapco barrel, new reg, spring kit, and pump were installed. It is a very light, easy to point, and reliable killer now. I would say that they certainly have redeeming qualities. The body and valve are very easy to work on. The stock valve spring was left in it but a light hammer spring was installed. The anno is very good and somewhat impressive. The bolt while not the best is still a good highflow bolt. I wouldnt mind picking one up for myself. Also if you are wondering the gun needs the 2k+ pump kit not the pre2k.

| MCB Member | I have a Rex M2 - it's their sniper knockoff. Not a bad marker, but the bottom line is kinda sucky. They use the bottom line as a mechanical reg. What looks like an on-off is actually the adjustment. There is a 600psi gauge with a vent so that if you try to run a remote into it it just leaks out. Mine won't run on air at all, but likes co2. The pump kit took some finishing work to keep it from rubbing on the barrel, but once I did that it shot pretty nice. On the bright side it is 2K+ so you can set it up with pneumos or any 2K+ pump kit. I just put a ccm kit on mine. The body is really small, low profile and has a short bolt with p-block. Anno is nothing to get excited about but looks OK. Oh yeah, and it has a roller sear, so the trigger pull is nice and smooth.
