I just got finished garage saling with the ol' lady and I picked up an ACI Maverick Pump fo $0.50......yeah, I said fifty cents. I really know nothing about these markers and I searched and could not find any solid data about them other than some basic for sale threads (by which it looks like I got a deal). The marker is in working order with no leaks and it shoots like a dream, scared the crap out of my daughter with it shooting in the house....ooopps. Any who, here are a couple pictures. Any information you can pass along would be greatly appreciated. Any estimate on value would also be appreciated. Thank you kindly and be blessed. Nick

| Hawaiian-shirted hooligan | Nice snag! Estimated price would be around $40-50, but I have seen them as low as $35 once in a while. The maverick uses the same internals as a Trracer since it's basically the same thing. They're an excellent loaner pump.

On top of the trigger should be a tiny piece of square metal. If it is missing, the "anti-double ball feed" feature will not work. If it is there, when you cock the marker, it will lock the bolt/pump in the forward position until fired. Back in the olden days, PCRI rated the Trracer/Maverick as the most accurate gun they had ever tested. A portion of the powertube is connected to the hammer as a way to prevent tube breakage. It came stock with a "Euro" grip, so you can use the bottom line adapter that will fit a "Euro", or you can bolt on another frame (A CCI .45 frame should fit it). Great pump, and great score. |

I had the hardest time to get it to cock.....degassed....then I realize that the valve was compressing while degassed. Once gassed up it cocked and shot really well. How do I increase/decrease velocity? Also, what are the barrel threads.....are they tracer/maverick specific or something more common? Thanks

| Post Whore Join Date: Oct 2006 | They are trracer/maverick specific. A few companies sold barrels so they turn up from time to time. As mentioned though there's really no need. They are a little noisy because they aren't vented but they are darned accurate if you feed them good paint. To avoid the age old rollout problem nail polish "wedgits" or something similar can be used. One trick that I've seen is about a 3/32 inch hole drilled through the barrel behind the sealing surface and a short length of knitting yarn is pushed thru. The yar sticks into the barrel by about a 1/4 inch. This is enough to avoid rollouts but not enough to get in the way. When it wears out or gets gunk'ified with paint just replace it. The bit sticking out just gets pinched by the barrel seating home to hold it in place. Simple and effective.

If yours does not have the adjuster, send me a PM. The local store where I frequent has dozens of these guns, full and in parts. I can snag an adjustable bolt for nearly free and send it out to you. | |
