How well do the Sheridan Turbo Valves work?

I have a question about the pmi/sheridan turbo valves. How much do they improve efficency? I have a pmi 1 that I was thinking about trying to put one into.

I have heard that you have to drill out the hole between the tubes to get the most out of one. Is this true, and again how much of a difference would this make?

Oh yeah first post ever! (On Paintball City. I had a few on MCarterBrown.)

Thanks,
Eric

They offer a bit of improvement over standard valve and hammer for a drop in kit is is quite good. But tuning and polishing are still needed. A full valve job from one of the airsmiths will out perform this every time.

On my tunes the shot count on 12g is 35-40 depending on weather, There is a lot of valve work that goes on and a light weight hammer is not always necessary, pump strike is much smoother, barrel and breach are honed and polished to allow for better shot to shot consistency.

Thanks for the reply. Hmmm....Maybe I'll look into a pps performance tune or something similar instead. Or just leave it as is. The only thing that really bothers me about my gun's effciency right now is having to listen to my roomate brag about how much better his phantom's efficiency is.

I think he's just jealous of the brass

Doing this kind of tune up is only necessary on a 12 gm gun. The C/A guns will probably run all day on one tank.

Drilling the hole out larger is necessary for the kit to do much, and it's a lilttle tricky.

PPS will do the performance tune for $79 and it includes the valve job, barrel honing and all around fine tuning. There's no better deal if you ask me.

You can sell your turbo kit for at least half of that amount -P
