You could just save the tanks and order some aluminum tube...
eBay Store - Velocity Air: 2.25 Aluminum: 2.25 Aluminum Tube Tubing Pipe, 36 Long

I've also used steel pipe for the barrel on a couple launchers. Just check your local auto store in the exhaust section.

nm I just re-read your post.. Are you using the threads from where the tank valve screwed in or drilling out the valve itself and using ASA threads? Steel exhaust pipe is cheap and if we could figure out a way to reduce it, I might be able to weld one up for ya... maybe the valve end of a junk steel tank would work if they mate together...

The tank in question had a bad valve pin so the customer asked me to dispose of it instead of fixing it.. so I pulled the valve drilled it out and cut the bottom off the tank to make it a barrel..

It goes tank-drilled out valve-asa-pipe fitting-reducer-fire extinguiser valve....

Yes I know tubing is cheap but for the one or two times I will use this a year I wanted ULTRA-cheap.. Ive got around $8 bucks in high pressure air fittings involved with this thing and nothing else.. the rest was scrap bin pickings
