adjusting 68 special ball latch.

hey all,
got an interesting problem, my "new" 68 special is feeding two balls at once almost every time, and the local wrench at the field told me that i needed to adjust the ball latch, that he had the same problem at the end of his 68 specials field life. problem is he didnt tell me how to do it, and im not sure i want to putz around taking apart a marker this complex at my current skill level, only to create a new problem. any help would be great... oh.. maybe some tune up tips for it too? that would be sweet. thanks all

cheers

The ball latch on these are a pivot style with a spring to force them up. You will just need to take out the old spring and replace it with a like type. Be careful not to put to stiff a spring as it can cause breakage or even cause your gun to misfire.

ok, so i took a spring out of a pen and cut it to length. i installed it and took the barrel part and tapped it a few times. under the old spring it would have let the ball pass, the new spring doesnt. ill find out if its too stiff this weekend at the field, because a visit from the police last weekend tells me im not allowed to fire a paintball marker in the back yard...
