| I Keel You! | Would it be wise to locTite the threads? My set screws werent set right or I just out muscled the force tension and it started to unscrew. I was hearing scratching while unscrewing my bottle from the asa. Then I noticed the top half of the reg was moving! Scared the crap outta me, so I dumped all the air. Got the tank seperated from the asa and unscrewed the "set screws" and seen a goudge marks along where the set screws were touching. I cleaned it up and reset everything as tight as I could. It's an '07 PMI reg. ![]() Last edited by forstgump; 06-10-2008 at 09:00 PM.. |

You may be surprised and they'll repair/replace it for free due to the potential liability if the reg fails and the parts seperate under pressure. If not, see how much the repair would be and decide if a new reg is a better option. I would not use that reg until it was inspected/repaired or you risk a catastrophic failure that could seriously injure or kill someone.

BTW, you did the smart thing in dumping the tank. you don't want to have a risk while monkeying with it. |
