| MCB Member Join Date: Jul 2006 Location: The San Fernando Valley, CA | Is the price of gas affecting the gunwhoring? Wow, I have been trying to move stuff for the last few months and I noticed that it is becoming increasingly harder to get stuff sold. My main hypothesis is that the price of gas, which is making everything else cost more, is also making it harder for people to keep extra money in their pockets. Is there any evidence that could reenforce my belief that high gas prices is associated with lower levels of gunwhoring? If so, that could help explain why it seems like everything is worth less now than it was at the beginning of the year. ![]()

| Team On Target Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: Central Florida | I will say gas prices have hit my construction business hard. Materials have gone up. The Real Estate market is down in the dumps and I am very picky at what I list to sell... as far a paintball......yes....for me it has....gas to go play and paint prices that use to be $40.00 will be $70.00 soon for a case...retail Waynes World (field) paint prices was $80.00 a case last year...I was told he lowered it to $65.00 a case because entries was nil to none except for bigger games... My local private field had 60 people strong.....we just closed it..... I'm working with Team On Target (scenario team) to construct a team practice field for them so we can use it to practice against/with them.... Alot of members are embracing the higher paint costs....because they think the newbies and butwipes with rope shooting markers will die off..I think it will bit them in the butt...I see lower level tournaments being canceled and scenario teams cutting back on games or losing members...Some of those praising it are from north of the border and their economy is better then ours....we'll see......but here in Florida...paintball is dieing.....

| Post Whore | In some ways, yeah its affected gunwhoring. In fact, you can see I had to sell the unfinished nasty spyder to pay bills due to the tax stuff; but I don't really lament the loss of cheap paint, because out here, most places are FPO, and its reflected in the fact we are seeing an increase, albiet, slower increase of players staying in the sport because there aren't as many buttwipes and unsportsmanlike players.... the local indoor charges up to $80 per case of pbs ($25 for 500, 40 for 1,000) and the big event, the SPPL Oregon Qualifiyer is $60-65 per case of paint, TAW, around the same, maybe less depending on stuff, local small fields are either byop or $45-50 per case of pbs which isn't bad honestly.

| MCB Member Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: San Diego CA | i live in san diego, with some of the highest gas prices in the country... has gas directly affected my [gun] buying habits? hell no! whether or not gas will come back down, i think we'll all adjust to it over time... this might mean cutting back on certain things (going out to dinner for example) or switching to a more fuel-effecient vehicle; however, at least in my mind, super great deals only come buy every so often (like that viper i bought not too long ago), and i've always felt it better to jump on opportunities like that and deal with the long-term stuff over... well over the long term. that being said, if you have any rare/vintage/classic goodies you're having a hard time getting rid of, let me know! lol |

Drum-Your sig is making it difficult for me to look at the forum at work... I work in cubicle chaos with people walking by constantly. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the pic though. I like the one with the grenades too!!! There aren't enough of them in your gallery though...![]()
