| Ignorant Child | QEV problem I need a way to either turn a QEV by 90 degrees, or to find some kind of "horizontal" QEV, with the exhaust perpendicular to the input and output. Basically, I have a Smart Parts Vibe which I had planned on making a mech. Problem is, rather than having a port facing straight down, the barb faces horizontally. If I replaced the barb with a QEV as it is, the hose would face straight down, parallel to the reg, rather than vertically inside the gun. I have a few ideas, but I do not know how important the location of the QEV is to its efficiency. Any help/ suggestions would be very much appreciated. And I apologize in advance for being linguistically challenged when it comes to pneumatics. Also, I noticed that unlike the Ion, all of the internal solenoid hoses appear to be 1/16 (I think) as apposed to the 1/8 and 1/16 combination. Will this cause problems at higher rates of fire? (Or in general) EDIT: Crap, QEVs won't fit on 1/16 will they?

| Newbie Join Date: Sep 2007 | The air hose fitting threads into the QEV, so use whatever size hoses and fittings you have. If you have teflon on the threads you should be able to rotate it any way you want without it leaking, or you can make or buy a spacer/washer to keep it tight and at a different angle. Or palmer pursuit sells straight fittings and 90deg fittings that screw into the QEV if you just need the hose at a different angle, havn't messed with a vibe, but the threads should be 10-32. |

| Ignorant Child | I don't think I explained it well enough. I actually just looked into the inside of an Ion today, and the way everything is hooked up makes me think I got a lot of things backwards. I was under the impression that the Vibe and Ion were nearly identical, but I was way off, at least in terms of what was where. I'm gone for the beach this whole week, but hopefully I'll be able to take a fresh look at it and understand where I got lost after clearing my mind for a bit. Thanks for the help though.
