| I suggest you oil the bolt o-ring, power tube, and hammer. Make sure that the main spring is around the power tube so that it sits in between the bolt and the hammer- not in between the hammer and the valve. ![]() Make sure you're pumping it full stroke. The handle needs to be completely forward. Last edited by mxmtl; 06-24-2008 at 08:32 PM. |

| Usually this would only happen if... 1) the hammer spring is too strong and the valve spring is too weak, or 2) your tank is out of air (the valve uses the air pressure to hold the valve shut during the cocking cycle. if there's no air in the tank, there's not enough pressure holding the valve shut allowing the power tube to be pushed in while cocking, thus opening the valve and allowing what little air is still in the tank to blow out the barrel.) My first suggestion would be to completely tear it down and oil every o-ring and moving part, as suggested above. Then while you're in there, inspect your springs (a broken valve spring, however unlikely, could also be the culprit). Then get your tank refilled. That's all I can think of for now. Good luck. |

| I'll have to check my own Trracer but I seem to remember that the velocity adjuster is a threaded spring seat that screws back and forth in the bolt body. If that adjuster is loose and screws itself back far enough then when you cock the gun the spring will coil bind before the hammer hooks onto the bolt or the adjuster will foul the hammer again before the hammer can latch to the bolt. Take it apart and see if that's the case. Especially if it farts at you when you pump it back and it does that without latching then I'll bet this coil binding or other interference is the cause. A thick wrap of teflon tape around the adjuster threads would fix that if this is the case.
