J&J Ceramic, without the ceramic coating?

Did J&J ever make a "Ceramic" styled barrel without the ceramic coating? I got a J&J barrel a few years ago with a Pro/Carbine and it looks just like older Ceramic barrels, but it doesn't appear to have the same coating as the new Ceramics. Did the coating change? The new ones are a bit rough inside, you don't really see a good mirror finish. Yet mine is perfectly smooth inside and a lot smoother outside than other Ceramics. It looks like it's just anodized.

I'll get a pic if necessary. For now it looks just like this:

The color has changed over the years. I have various ceramic J&J barrels that are different colors.

That barrel looks brass. Is it heavy?

They changed colors. Ceramic is more or less a gimmick and iirc the things are just anodized with is technically a ceramic coating.

Definitely not brass. I have brass barrels to compare it to. Just olive colored and VERY smooth inside, unlike the other Ceramics I've seen.

I guess I'll chalk it up to either being worn in, polished by the previous owner, or just a different ceramic coating.

I think that color / porting pattern was one of the first runs. The ceramic barrels then went to a grayish color and now most are black. This cocker on ebay has a similar one on it.
