| MCB Member Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: San Diego CA | PPS questions... so, i've finally gotten the KP3 i've wanted for so long, and figured "what the hell, let's send it to Palmers;" however, i do have a few questions in regards to sending stuff their way... -what is the best way to ship it? insure it both ways? request to have signature confirmation when they ship it back? anyone have any problems getting stuff up there or getting back? -the "performance tune" looks to be a good deal, what with honing the barrel, improving the valving and softening the action; the ultra quickstrip looks like a must-have as well... am i correct in assuming this comes with a new bolt? also, can they do the spiral porting since it's a fixed-barrel? -what exactely is the Hurricane ASA and why would i want it? my KP3 currently has the CA adapter coming out the front lower tube... any pros/cons to the Hurricane ASA? can you run 12gs off it (i'm thinking WGP pump changer)? -can they supply a new pump? pehaps something derlin? -can they/will they powdercoat/anno/color all the brass a matt black? i've seen some like this but am unsure if PPS can do it... -should a trip to palmers happen before or after i have the stock refinished? -and last, what is the average turn-around time? i know i could probably call them monday and get all the answers but i'm excited and impatient, and i'm sure people here know the answers... thanks guys oh, by the way, some pics... ![]() ![]() |

They sure can, but the original pump will be a lot smoother after the performance tune. I believe a PGP 3" pump is $15 and a PPS one is $30, so it's a cheap thing to try. Make sure to keep the stock pump though, just in case you like it better. Quote:
