PPS questions...

so, i've finally gotten the KP3 i've wanted for so long, and figured "what the hell, let's send it to Palmers;"
however, i do have a few questions in regards to sending stuff their way...
-what is the best way to ship it? insure it both ways? request to have signature confirmation when they ship it back?
anyone have any problems getting stuff up there or getting back?
-the "performance tune" looks to be a good deal, what with honing the barrel, improving the valving and softening the action;
the ultra quickstrip looks like a must-have as well... am i correct in assuming this comes with a new bolt?
also, can they do the spiral porting since it's a fixed-barrel?
-what exactely is the Hurricane ASA and why would i want it? my KP3 currently has the CA adapter coming out the front lower tube...
any pros/cons to the Hurricane ASA? can you run 12gs off it (i'm thinking WGP pump changer)?
-can they supply a new pump? pehaps something derlin?
-can they/will they powdercoat/anno/color all the brass a matt black? i've seen some like this but am unsure if PPS can do it...
-should a trip to palmers happen before or after i have the stock refinished?
-and last, what is the average turn-around time?
i know i could probably call them monday and get all the answers but i'm excited and impatient,
and i'm sure people here know the answers... thanks guys
oh, by the way, some pics...

Just ship it to them, they'll ship it back to you with whatever method you want. I think it's usually UPS within the US.

Performance tune is a must have, the regular quickstrip is much cheaper and retains the original bolt (and the look with it). Ultra quickstrip comes with a new bolt and a new pump arm. Not sure on the spiral porting.

It's the CA mount that your find on all Hurricanes. Lets you run a small tank on the underside of the gun. Good if you're going to use a small CO2/HPA tank and don't want the KP3 hose/cradle look. Also lets you run 12gs or a remote adapter, which would be all but impossible with the stock KP3 CA mount.

They sure can, but the original pump will be a lot smoother after the performance tune. I believe a PGP 3" pump is $15 and a PPS one is $30, so it's a cheap thing to try. Make sure to keep the stock pump though, just in case you like it better.

They definintely can, I'm not sure on the price though. The finish looks in good condition, for the cash and time involved I'd just leave it as is.

If you're not getting a Hurc CA mount, you don't even need to send the stock in, you could refinish it at the same time. If you're getting the Hurc CA mount, I say refinish after as they'll have to cut the stock slightly to get the bracket to sit flush.

I got mine back on Thursday, and it took about 3 weeks + shipping time.

Good luck, you won't regret sending it in, it'll be a completely different animal after the work is done. Or if you find it an overwhelming experience, you can just sell it to me
