Mech Vibe/ 4way question.

I recently got all of the components for my mechanical Vibe project. I have successfully gotten the gun to fire, but I must manually pull the 4-way rod back into place. I was under the impression that the air pressure would automatically push the rod back into place, just like a Clippard 3-way, although now I believe I was mistaken. What is the best workaround to this problem? How can I get the piston inside the 4-way to return? Also, the 3 way leaks right before it fires, is there a cause for this? I assume it will be practicable if the rod were being pushed in by a trigger instead of my finger.

See if you can get a little spring on the inside, to return it...

I have no idea if that would work though.

I just rigged up my own spring return, that was simple. It stopped the leaking too. Thanks!

Sure, I'll get pictures tomorrow, and maybe a video from my phone when I get more air. I was actually shocked that it worked so well. Its pretty crude atm, I slapped it together in 5 minutes, but it seems to be holding up fine.

I used to be into airsoft, and I had an old gas gun piston head that looked about the same size as the 4-way. There was a small hole for a screw, and as it happened, a pen spring fit perfectly inside. I cut the spring a bit, put it inside the 4-way against the rod, and put the piston head over that. One side of the spring fit inside the screw hole, the other fit inside the 4-way. Super glued (for now) in place, just to see if it would work, and -"oh, wait that just worked?". Once I get cut the spring down a bit more, I'll probably epoxy it on or something a bit better than super glue. It looks like I could rig up a way to adjust the tension with a screw with a little work.

I'll try type a bit more coherently tomorrow, I should have some crappy pictures too.

So did you plug one hole of the 4 way? I was under the impression that the standard noid was similar to the Ion, and it is a 3 way(input, output, exhaust).

Yep, plugged one of the exhaust outlets. Got the pictures, uploading them now.

The black thing on the end is the cap with the spring inside. I pealed it off and it is now siliconed in place. I have a couple more of it on a different angle, but I have no service where I live and I can't seem to send them to my email address.
