| Seasoned Member | Refurbishing Sniper 913 i bought a beat up Sniper with the serial 913 a year ago and im wondering how far i should take things. not much problems but there were gouges in the body, someone used a wire brush to remove anno. and the feedneck is gone, and this person tried to glue on a stock feed. i sanded most of the gouges, now im wondering what kind of anno i should get, Polished or Matte? do i want the niceness of Polished or try and bring it back to its out of the factory finish. and then if i change that, should i also change the hammer? its the older pre-nelson hammer and springs with the threaded set screw used as a lug, but i dont want to drill the top of the body for the lug adjustment, so i would make a custom lug for bottom adjustment. should i use the original steel hammer or put in a stainless hammer that doesnt rust and use nelson springs? or should i mod the stock hammer to accept nelsons? should i polish in upper and bottom tubes? it is also missing the screwed on sight rail, and i would need to make a feedneck to press it back in any opinions and suggestions will be appreciated |

| Yah. This. A triple digit sniper is a piece of history. Restore to stock then caress it gently every night before bed.

| Nothing wrong with that. Kind of like having a 1957 porthole T-bird with a fuel-injected 4.6 litre under the hood. Looks good and reliable. Best of both worlds.

| www.yankeepaintball.com | Personally I'd leave it as stock as possible. As has been posted a 3 digit sn is desireable to a collector(sub 500 more so but still under 1000 is good). It might not be worth as much as one that hasn't needed to be restored but it should be worth more than it would if it was modded to a point it couldn't be viewed as original. What do you want the marker to be the sweetest shooter ever or a nicely restored collectible? Tug

| MCB Member | Keep stock parts in a bag. Make it something you enjoy to use. Whether that means light nelson springs and a modern valve and heavy hammer, or stock sheridan stuff. Just dont do anything dumb like making it accept threaded IVG's dear heavenly heavens dont do that. GL with it
