| TANSTAAFL Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: People's Republic of Maryland | Mags & Tank Regs I just picked up my first Mag, God, I'm in love with it just from the pictures! Anyway, I have 2 LP 68/4500 air tanks, I was going to convert the LP tanks to the Myth regulator from Guerrilla Air, but I want to make sure they can keep up with the Mag before I drop any $ on something that won't work. If anyone has any comments, suggestions or advise, I would like to hear it. |

I'd suggest a Crossfire reg, best recharge rate around, but all you need is something that can output 850+ psi, and you should be fine. |

| MCB Member | ^ Agree. Crossfires are the best screw-in preset regs around IMHO and they work great on Mags. I'm not sure you'll be able to find just the regulator so you might be better off selling a tank and buying a new one. For reference, a 68/4500 on a stock classic valve with acceptable paint/barrel match will get you a reliable 850 shots on a full tank. A 45/45 will get you around 550. (for other sizes, figure about 13 shots per cuin) Note that you won't be able to shoot the tank much below 1 ksi. Theoretically a Mag can shoot all the way down to the chamber operating pressure - about 400-500 psi depending on paint, barrel and velocity - but in practice, the recharge rate gets so low that the performance is terrible once you get under about 800 input. There have been some people who will gut the regulator and use an LP tank with an external regulator for velocity control but I really can't recommend doing that. The 'Mag valve is one of the best regulators around so you might as well use it. Lastly, if you want to invest in a good-quality adjustable tank reg (Nitroduck and MaxFlo make good ones as well as an old AGD Flatline if you can find it), it's money well-spent. It's not really important to have adjustability unless you've got a reactive valve (RTP, E-, X-, etc.) but it won't hurt and you'll be able to use the tank/reg for double-duty on other guns. |

I think the tank are more valuable than the reg though, so someone would be in for a nice deal if you want to trade a tank for a reg. Other than that, if you are willing to go with a reg that require a cradle i got 1 for free if you are willing to pay shipping. It is the adjustable reg from Air America Raptor Rex, work great and give youa snappy trigger on the mag....the problem is of course that it require a cradle or a remote line to use with the mag. |

Their last screw in, the 420SV, was great as you could replace the o-ring lip if it became damaged and it comes with a venting slide check. The other option is their DynaFlow, which is an adjustable, so you can increase the pressure and increase the RT capabilities of your 'mag's on/off.

I would contact them directly. It costs about 60 bucks plus return shipping. Remember the most expensive part of a compressed air setup is the actual tank itself. |

| Newbie Join Date: Jun 2008 Location: Smyrna, Tn | I talked to the owner of Guerilla Air while at Oklahoma D-Day 2008... He said he had a replacement spring that would bring the Myth Reg up to 1K PSI... He is going to drop ship me one of those springs for my Myth to use on my Mag... So when you order your Myth Reg. make sure you ask for a 1K spring... I hope this helps out... |
