Moly/Teflon coating the inside of barrels

Recently, I noticed the inside of the barrel on my Phantom had many pores/shallow scratches, and was looking to remedy this. I found this thread on Peanut Butter Nation about moly coating barrels, and I have a couple of questions -

1. My barrel is anodized on the inside. This made me a bit skeptic -
"Now if you are shooting a barrel that has been annodized or powdercoated or clearcoated inside this won't really work all that well because the metal is already sealed"
I can see that the scratches are also in the anno. Would moly coating even work?
2. Would Teflon be a better option?
3.If I were to use Teflon instead, would this work? I already have a small tube of it.

Thats a load of BS from what I can tell. Your not actually doing any coating. It would be the same thing as swabbing a bunch of broken paint or some type of wax into your barrel. The stuff they are referencing in that PBN thread is not going to come out similiar to say the Teflon coatings on frying pans. It may temporarily fill the scratches but wont be permenant

Besides many people will attest that "waxing" the inside of your barrel does nothing and in some cases will actually hurt your accuracy. Ive seen this many times after "brassoing" the inside of my PPS barrels.

Ive done an seen the Rain-x trick which only helps you shoot through a break.

The best cure for your scratches and whatnot would be a decent hone.

I think I might try it on my stock 98 barrel, I'm more worried about the squeegee than it.

Part of the process of applying a dry film lube is to abrade the surface clean (the DIY kit I had spoke of steel wool). Worked great on some trigger plates and sears I had.

EDIT: I read that PBN link and these guys are just putting grease in the barrel. Duh. You're going to need something much more durable than that if you want to use it for paintball.

Depending on the condition of the barrel and the material it's made of, I've used various polishing compounds after a good honing with either a flex hone, or if the scratches aren't very deep, a little custom thing I made that holds wed/dry sandpaper pieces (I'll show pics if someone wants to see it) The wet/dry sandpaper thing works great and you can take it to some extremes like 2400 grit paper and such..almost a polish it's self..then finish with the appropriate polishing compound for the material involved. I've often considered finding a job shop that could do baked on T-coating, but I've never gone past the consideration phase. I think it would be a good thing for very loose barrels as the Teflon would decrease the inside diameter somewhat....but it could just be a pipe dream on my part.

I've used a shotgun swab chucked into a power drill with 0000 steel wool with some success on brass barrels, not sure of the effect on aluminum
