I found that with my Redux (yeah, I've been really quiet about the purchase) The efficiency improved as I put more rounds through it. I've only played one day with it but I probably put 150 balls through it. New out of the box I, too, was disappointed when I got 18 shots out of the very first 12 gram. Throughout the first day of play I noticed it getting better. I think that as the hammer slides through the chamber, over and over, it will become smoother thus reducing friction and improving efficiency. At this point, simply lube it up thoroughly and start shooting it. Every once in a while (during the break-in period) clean out the chamber, re-lube and keep going. The efficiency should improve. Try that before replacing internals or springs. When I took apart the Redux I was impressed with the quality of all the internals. |

The CCI bolt comes with a 10-32 hole which is exactly the same as your standard nelspot bolt. Catch is that the CCI bolt uses a nylon setscrew in its place. Lrrpie, they're $1000 guns now!

I am currently running a #6 Lapco Power 4 port tube SO it does work. Came straight from the pond like that. I am contemplating swaping out the latch on the hammer with my lapco fluted hammer just to say its not stock. I do have I have a Lapco #4 dual ported tube but its a bit longer by 1/2 inch no dice. This really sounds like B's realm after all who on MCB has buiolt and tuned more 007's the Brother B? | |

| Redux Freak w/PTSD | Due to the fact I could not locate a chrono I did a purely NON-scientific test with my Dux a few moments ago. Mind you I have no chrono and no way of telling the velocity running a BLUE main spring and GREEN valve using a #6 Lapco power tube and stock internals: 1 RAP4 12 gram. Round 1: 30 shots before any noticeable drop. (strange it was an even #,possibly 250fps) 79 total shots till it puttered out completely. Round 2: 29 shots before any noticeable drop 80 total shots until the 12 gram was bone dry. This was just screwing around in the back yard and is not meant to in anyway calculate the Redux’s efficiency. This will give the theory guys something to chew on. The 12 gm was a funky green job Last edited by DSA; 07-17-2008 at 03:14 AM.. |

| Quack... Whack!! Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Los Angeles, California | Redux break-in? Yup! As with other metal toys one may have, the 'Dux, and other paintguns require a break-in period to smooth the action! if you don't want to wait, then take it apart, and without removing very much material- you can hand or machine polish your internal parts. First, I'd start with the bolt- and you may want to replace the front o-ring with a smaller one! this little trick will help the bolt go all the way forward faster.... then polish the wear surfaces- the bolt and hammer are nickle plated fyi. Then the outside of the tpc and valve tube could be polished too. Although it is a heat treated part, you could knife-edge the sear where it contacts the sear stud on the trigger! this is an old trick- but mine lets off crisp and quick! (it lessens the surface area of the sear.) then, if your paint is of good quality, and your insert is matched up correctly- you could increase your effiency by using a trick from the MCBer who goes by "B". he tunes first by springing, and then by reducing the asa volume- he advocates, and is CORRECT by using plastic "spacers" that cut down on the chamber volume- (his instructions are on the NOG forum) This will also bring up your shot count if done correctly- Now- I have been playing 12gram pistol Paintball since the mid 80's, and I don't remember playing serious paintball and at the same time trying to wring out 30+ shots from a 12gram!! my guns (16 of them) all pistols, typically get 20-25 usable shots (265-270) from them, and I change at 15-17 in a game!! I am satisfied with this........... as long as I have 12 grams in my quill of course! but I take 8-10 on the field, and 100 rds with me every game. Unless I screw up- I won't run out of CO2. As with any sport- It's a matter of what you are comfortable with! MOngo
