I've seen plenty of JTs, and Pursuit Helmets bust with close shots, but never a UVEX. Someone here, maybe B, told a story that it was UVEX themselves that forced fields to stop using them, as they were afraid of the liability. They were not designed for paintball. Honestly, I'm not sure they were designed for a human head either, given the poor comfort, but they did protect my eyes, at least.

EDIT: back on the 68 special, does the bolt/hammer linkage ever break? because it seems like it's under quite a bit of stress with such a large hammer rattling around. Last edited by tesguy; 07-16-2008 at 06:50 PM.. | ||

| MCB Member | and i just remembered that the fun farm has a surplus of old tippmann parts. i'm about 100000% positive there were some 68 special/SMG parts in the bin. and by the way tom, you left your spring kit for your nelsons there. it's been sitting behind the counter for quite a while now. and i'm pretty sure there's a 007 pump handle back there too, along with what looks to be a sheridan P series pump handle. EDIT: Tom, that 10 man event was nothing short of a cluster-****. be happy you didnt go. next time we practice i will tell the story, there may be a lurker waiting for me to start something. The weak point is not the link itself, but the fact they are held on by rubber bands. Yes, rubber bands. Sometimes those rubber bands break, and you don't notice until the link starts to come off, and bends at a funny angle while firing. THATS the point where it might break. Thats pretty unlikely though. If it broke, you could probobly fabricate one out of wood, or whatever. SInce its external, you are not limited to size, or shape.
