help with PPS decision...

i've decided to send my KP3 to palmers for some work... while it's there i'd like to have either powdercoated or zinc plated in a dust/matte black. anyone have any experiences with either of these that can offer some opinions, or possible have pics to share? thanks guys.

Powdercoat scratches but doesn't wear, but looks like paint.

Black Zinc rubs off more easily than scratches, but looks almost like gun bluing.

I recommend you go with PC on top of Nickel for a KP, or the pump will eventually wear off the zinc. You could do BZ on top of nickel but it will leave nice shiny silver under the pump area.

Black Zinc will have nickel plating under it. Wherever it may scratch or rub off will have nickel showing through. Powdercoat can chip.

Most of their scratch guns (except Blazer/Pyre) have matte nickel as a basic finish. You'll paying extra for the coating to go on top.

I really like the look of the black zinc, but I'm just not sure how well it would hold up under a pump arm. Wrinkle PC looks really nice as well and would probably be a little more resistant to wear, although it can chip.

I don't mind the wear under the pump arm, it's similar to the old well used KP look.

I'm not sure they can do wrinkly PC on a pump, I'm pretty sure the pump arm would grind over it.
