| Laser Info Hey all, I know laser sighting is useless in paintball, the paintball guns are not accurate enough to make use of it. But that aside, I'm looking into buying a laser pointer for my splatmaster. I'm trying to find one that would be as bright as possible. What's a good output power? Some I've seen range from 3 to 14 mW. And wavelength, should I try to get a green laser, or just stick with the typical red laser? Thanks!

| Hawaiian-shirted hooligan | If you absolutely have to have one, go with the lowest power you can get, otherwise you could hurt someone's eyes. I don't have my laser safety stuff handy or I could tell you the exact wattage to avoid.

| Hm that is a good point, maybe I'll look into a flashlight instead.

| I don't think they are useless. I've used them at indoor fields where they were scare the heck out of newer players. They would see the "red dot", and often run away, or at least duck and hide. But, there is a vision issue. I've always heard the weaker lasers are harmless, but many fields do not allow them for the liability reasons. So keep that in mind. Far more usefull are dot-sites. Same concept, except not effected by light or range, and will not blind someone. Plus, I do think they help with rapid firing

| Someone at the last game I was at had one and it was damned bright in my face even from a good 100 yards away. I'd suggest you skip it and go for a red dot. The "virtual" laser is just as good for putting a mark onto your target. I too am a fan of red dots. Not that I expect the balls to hit right on the dot. But if I can mark the center of the "Circle Of Probability" of where the balls will hit with the red dot then at least I'm that far ahead.
