Shipping HP tanks

are there any restrictions to shipping HP tanks? of course the tank would be empty; anyone run into trouble shipping one USPS

Never. Since I always fly to games out of state, I always ship the tank. No issues thus far. Costs about $15.

Just remove the fill nipple or gauge so it's unable to hold pressure and ship. (degass it prior to removing the fill nipple though)

Not once have I ever done that. As long as it is empty you should be fine.
